I’m the kind of guy who can exaggerate a story to the moon and back, but I assure you this is not one of those times.
Finally heard back about my appeal being processed and received a brown envelope in the post. A very heavy brown envelope!! This contained essentially every piece of info the DWP have on me regarding my PIP claim.
I kid you not, 100 A4 pages filled with text! I thought I’d ordered Tolstoys War and Peace from Amazon or something! (Ok it’s a little sarcy but the 100 pages thing is true!)
Every claim I’ve had to make and form I’ve had to fill in would probably cover the equivalent of a Masters in English lit dissertation!
Leaves me thinking one way about it. The plan to cut the welfare budget is primarily based on confusing and boring the hell out of people! They want to put people off claiming with a mountain of paperwork. Just like these appeals, they are hoping we’ll just sit and accept their ill informed decision cos it’s too hard and too stressful to fight it.
Well I’m onto the next stage now so their plan has so far failed. Wait on my appeal date, which I should hear about in September, and then Mr DWP you will hear my voice. Will need to be calm but fully intend to shout their disgusting practices down and leave them crying like a baby that’s lost its dummy!!
Phew! That feels better
