About Me and my Diagnosis

I was diagnosed with RRMS in 2004 at 20 years old. I’d had little things happen that year but not enough to get a diagnosis. Then towards the end of the year I lost over 90% of the feeling down the whole of my right side. Went to the GP Monday, had a call from the hospital Tuesday, on the ward Wednesday and given a diagnosis of suspected MS on the Thursday.

I know some people go for years without a diagnosis so I was lucky I started treatment relatively quickly. Had to wait 8 weeks for results to come back from the spinal tap but they said this was just to double check it. The MRI scan showed multiple areas of inflammation so they were pretty confident. I’m just glad it showed a brain there at all.
